10/7

It has been a somewhat eventful past two days. Yesterday I had to go on sick call again (lame) because I got pink eye. I didn't know anyone besides elementary school kids and their teachers got that. First time i've ever had it and hopefully the last. its so gross! Got some meds and my eyes have significantly improved already.

The corps members come next Wednesday and it is hard to imagine the chaos that will ensue when they arrive. There are 265 of them coming from all over the country. And nearly half our Team leaders are and still will be in Samoa, so we will be BUSY. When the Corps Members get here they will be put in pods, which are pretty much temporary teams until real teams are figured out. They will do physicals and trainings in their pods and find out their real teams about 2 weeks into CTI (Corps training). So today we each got names of 10-12 people who will be on our pods as well as their phone numbers. We will call and welcome them before the week is over. I got almost all east coasters, including someone from long valley, 10 minutes from my apartment in chester. small world. East coast is taking over this year i think! no complaints here. We also got our van assignments for CTI. I got a 15 passenger blue van. i realized as i was doing my van inspection that it doesn't actually start, so maybe i'll get assigned a different one soon? i suppose that's why we check them. i don't really need my own van right this second anyways. Lastly, we also got our permanent room assignments. I get to stay in my room and get rid of one of the extra beds. Beth will be joining me in my room when she gets back from Samoa. So i'll still have my own room for 2 more weeks, which i will appreciate.

We got a bunch of homework this week too! Vehicle check, Individual Learning plan and Policy test. I know these terms don't mean a lot to anyone but us here, but the main idea is lots of homework! but also lots of progress.

k that's all for now.

happy birthday david!
