Tomorrow is our last day here at Green Light New Orleans. It has been one of my favorite projects. The staff here give us freedom to manage tasks and projects in ways that work for us and yet provide support with their readily available presence. Throughout the round the team has continued to complete installations, averaging 750-1000 bulbs in a 5 day work week and about 25-30 homes a week. The team has continued to work on their specialty roles. This week the team is taking turns helping out at an environmental education session at a local school.
So tomorrow we will pack up, clean up and head out on Friday. We have a 5 day road trip ahead of us with the following stops:
day 1: July 16- drive from new orleans to baton rouge to allow blue 5 and 7 to fill up the cargo van
then continue driving to austin, tx to stay with a corps members mother for the evening. I'm sure he will show us the important sites in Austin as well.
day 2: July 17- driving from Austin, TX to Clovis, NM. not much there, but there is a swimming pool at the hotel
day 3- July 18 driving from clovis, nm to flagstaff, az.
day 4- july 19 taking a slight detour to go see the grand canyon for the morning. then continuing on in the afternoon to las vegas. (hope i'm not sorry)
day 5- July 20 - arrive in sacramento. chaos ensues.
appreciating the quiet for now and looking forward to the road trip ahead.
