Ok time to catch up.
On our first week back from break in Sacramento the corps members assigned to the high school were working at the elementary school because the high school was still closed for break. One of the projects they worked on was to re-decorate a classroom. Here is Adam and his Math bulletin board creation. Also, Scott, Michael and me with the Language Arts board. (still unsure why I stick out my stomach whenever someone whips out a camera…)

On MLK day the team did a service project in Pacific Palisades. We did some weeding and trash pickup in the pouring rain. Here is the after picture of us soaking wet and in front of 26 bags of garbage and weeds that we removed.
Some members of Green 2 (another team) joined us at a few of our work sites. It was really rainy this week (especially for LA). The corps members and staff at the elementary school had fun dressing me and Philip up in trash bags so that we wouldn’t get drenched delivering snack. Everything turns into an art project at the elementary school. I will miss that!

Today we went to Hermosa Beach. It was a pretty sweet place with some cute shops and lots of food. Caught the last sunset I’m going to see over the Pacific for a while. Sigh. One of the few things I’ll miss about LA.

Hoping to receive more info about our Utah project this week. Am looking forward to saying goodbye to LA traffic and being in some open space!
This is our last week in the schools and it’s a short one. We leave for Sacramento on Friday and will spend one week there before we leave for our 2 day drive to Green River, Utah.
That’s all for now.
